A Day in My Life MBBS 1-Semester 2 (Online Edition)
Hey!
I am back with another blog post. In all honesty I had slacked off writing these weekly Journals as I attempt to get my 💩 together, and to basically adjust to learning as a whole. Learning online is hard stuff, but having to teach yourself absolutely everything was beyond CHALLENGING. For last semester, I would like to give my shoutout to Khan Academy, Professor Leonard and The Organic Chem Tutor and YOUTUBE. They helped me more than my Professor's could..... RIP.
To sum up, last semester...
RECAP!
- Physics was horrible, disgusting and GOOD BYE... don't ever need you in my life again
- Maths was bad (Numbers and equations are just... BIG YUCK!)
- Intro to Bio was good and easy to follow (probs the favourite out of the 4 I had to take)
- Chinese 1 was wholesome, and definitely learned the most out of this course!
Current Semester: WEEK 1
My timetable looks like this:
MONDAY: Chinese 2
TUESDAY: Organic Chemistry and General Physics Lab
WEDNESDAY: Chinese 2
THURSDAY: Systematic Anatomy (ALL friggin day)... + an elective that will come in later in term
FRIDAY: Cell Biology
Yes, Unfortunately, I am still learning Online... Not much I can do with the still existing Pandemic, globally. *sigh*
So which courses am I MOST excited for? It's Anatomy and my elective this term, hands down.
Courses I am Dreading? Cell Bio and Org Chem (BIG TIME).
Thoughts on Week 1?
We have the SAME Chinese Professor as last term, so following up with her teaching methods was easy to adapt to for there were basically no changes to that. She still liked giving HW out per classes... what a bummer.
General Physics Lab: We had an Introduction lecture that could have been SUMMED up into at least a 10 pg slide... but instead we had it going for 60 and worst of; due to time differences my focus goes downhill when it hits 9pm (which is when this class is held). The BONUS part of this class is NO actual Physics exams, Calculus to rmbr form and a dread teaching style. (IF YOU KNOW, you know...). Thankful we have just reports to write, though not sure about this Lab simulation VR they are 'guinea-pigging our batch to trial... more opinions on that next post.
What I think would happen for lab:
Organic Chem: We waited an HOUR on the class domain, just to be told it was cancelled and we will be watching pre-recorded once going forth due to time differences. Yay for the department being so considerate of this, but should have told us ahead of time instead of having us wait... The Pre-recorded lecture was eventually uploaded 2 days later, and it was okay to follow through. Defs need a brush up on Chem anything tho.
Systematic Anatomy: I heard a rumour.....
And well the rumour was, the Professor assigned to Class 2 was the 'best' out of the others. I think this is true. Just from the first lesson, he is Organised, systematic and Concised with his PPT notes. Though i must say, he himself is his own HYPE-man. Every sentence and word he says throughout the lesson was with overenthusiastic excitement. It was hearing a man who had down 3 cans of REDBULL and he was just GOING in the lecture. Good lecture tho.
The one thing that has yet to be sorted, nor clarified is the website they are having us students use, MOOC. But more on this later i guessed.
Cell Bio: BOY oh BOY!. 160 slides per lesson.... That is All i have to say.
Overall that is Week 1 of Semester 2. So what is next in-store for me this week?
