Week 3 : Short and Sweet

 THANK the heavens!

Week 3 of Med School has been cut short due to a National Holiday in China. This is the 2nd biggest celebration that holds a value in the Chinese Culture and Tradition.
It is the celebration known as  Mid-Autumn/ Mooncake Festival. Traditionally, it is a celebration where people worshipped the moon for bountiful harvests. It is festival that symbolises THREE important things.

Gathering: Gathering of Family members and relatives for a family reunion

Thanksgiving: To thank for the upcoming harvests, in hopes of luck, fortune and Prosperity

Prayer: Praying for GOOD luck, Longevity and Prosperity

This year, this festival falls on October 1st- October 8th. Which means a week long of holidays for us. What a unexpected turn of events, and certainly a good way for us to use our time as productive as we can. Be it rest, catch up, do assignments or even spend time with family and friends!

If you have been following my previous weekly Journaling, you would have known that my schedule is pretty much the same, but here is a short overview!

Monday:

    Chinese Class

This is the best class, and most productive class in my semester thus far. I surely enjoy the engagement our teacher gives us, and how she is so meticulous with our writing  and pronunciation! It makes me want to be better at the language and improve myself better for each lesson.

I have some really good friends that help me check my writing and teach me how to pronounce some of these ridiculously hard words.

Tuesday:

    Physics Class

We had a very interesting class. We even got recommended by our lecturer to 'READ more books.' After a number of us expressed our concerns on not getting the concepts he explains during class.

We even got told that 'We should be better at our English.'

V. Interesting.Period.

    Chinese Class

It was as productive as it was on Monday!, except this time we were given twice more the amount of HW to be done over the holidays.

Wednesday:

     Maths Class

Okay so on Sunday, we were stuck doing 1 question for an hour. And it was disastrous, because in the end I personally felt more confused than how I had initially solved for it. Our lecturer insisted we do a 10 step process, for the math question would be worth 10 points at the end of term.

My. Oh. My.

So this class, we started off with the SAME EXACT question we were trying to solve for on SUNDAY.

Honestly, it was STILL confusing as it was SUNDAY. RIP.

But I went through it again myself after class, to make more sense of it. GOODNESS GRACIOUS.

The next hour of calculus class, he went GOD SPEED, out-pacing Usain Bolt in speediness, in terms of how fast he went through formula after formula, examples after examples with clarifications and explanations that made no sense to me. Calculus and Numbers are already hard as it is, like SIR, please slow down.

Thursday - Saturday

Just going to do a little productive studying here and there and completing my assignments!

Nothing interesting here for now :)

However here is a fun relatable meme shared by Yoong 💓
